We have just finished an update of the 'Guestbook Extras'.
What's new is:
1) Spam protection has improved
The guestbook is now better protected against spam through a number of mechanisms.
One mechanism is that we always display a CAPTCHA with every new posting (refer to Wikipedia entry about CAPTCHAS).
We therefor use reCAPTCHA (a service from Google).
Before, only now and then a CAPTCHA was displayed, which in addition was also easier to solve by the Bots than the new CAPTCHA.
2) Additional new field possible
In the guestbook there are a number of predefined fields that you can turn on an off (name, homepage, ICQ number, Skype etc.)
From now on you can also add a custom-field!
A simple example:
You can, for example, add the field "Favourite Book" to your guestbook.
There are also a bit more complex examples:
There are so-called "Widgets" that are partially suited for the additional field.
